Millbrook Cottage is a 17th Century historic Grade II Listed Building, nestled in the corner of Nether Alderley, a treasure trove of history on it's doorstep. Outside our front door is the 15th century Elizabethan Corn Mill.

Down the lane is St. Mary's 14th century church which shelters under the shadow of a 1200 year old Yew tree in its churchyard and alongside is the Old School House and the Stanley family Mausoleum. On the other side of the lane is a lovely Tudor cottage; the former Eagle & Child Inn (also known as the Mill keeper’s cottage).
Millbrook has in the past been an Inn, a farm and the village shop. It has been lovingly restored to include modern facilities, whilst still retaining a wealth of original features. They include oak beamed ceilings, a hand carved 13th century oak staircase, lead & glass windows and a stone fireplace.

We are situated one and a half miles from Alderley Edge village. In the surrounding area you will find many attractions: Jodrell Bank, Styal Country Park, Quarry Bank Mill. Halls & Gardens in the area include Tatton Park, Capesthorne, Arley and Tabley Halls and Hare Hill. Or simply go for a walk over Alderley Edge, with its enchanted wood where the wizard Merlin reputably has his bolthole, or just enjoy the stunning views over Cheshire. |
