Balkissock Lodge dates back to 1760 and was originally built as a farm, then served as a shooting lodge to the Laggan Estate. Now after a complete renovation the lodge has become a very comfortable guesthouse with an acre of landscaped gardens. |

Your hosts share an interest in cooking and take great pride and pleasure in serving excellent meals in the conservatory. All produce is sought locally or home grown. Food awards have been given by the AA and Balkissock Lodge won the accolade of Best in Scotland 2005 by Les Routiers. |

Balkissock is a quiet hamlet up in the hills behind the coastal village of Ballantrae. Its an ideal base for touring the area, with many gardens to visit, Culzean Castle and the lovely Galloway Forest. Keen walkers won't be hard to please. The stunning scenery makes walking pure pleasure with several local walks from the front door. |

Golf is one of the main attractions in the area and the famous Turnberry is only 40 minutes away. Several other golf courses in the area are only a short distance. For those who just like to mooch about there are wonderful beaches, Port Patrick and Dunure with lovely harbours - something to suit everyone. |
