Less than a 1 mile away is the tourist centre of Porthmadog where a BR station & both the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Narrow Gauge Railways are located.
Near the harbour is the Maritime Museum & a short distance away the Car Museum is located.
Numerous shops restaurants & pubs can be found here. |

Bus services from the town convey tourists to the mountainous areas in the heart of Snowdonia.
Just over a 1 mile walk from Porthmadog along the Cob (the sea defence wall) brings you to Boston Lodge where the engine sheds for the FR are located.
A scenic walk from here can be followed to the mock Italian village of Porthmeirion set in a fairy-tale location. |

A short drive by car or train ride brings you to the ancient castles of Criccieth & Harlech. The world famous Caernarfon Castle is less than 1 hour away by bus or car. |

Travelling from the North:
Proceed up the high street & just pass the pedestrian crossing turn R by Woolworths signposted Borth y Gest & Morfa Bychan.At the top of the hill filter L & drive on to Borth y Gest.
Ardwyn is on the sea front having passed the garage & the Ebenezer Chapel.
Travelling from the S:
Drive pass the FR station & pedestrian crossing & turn L at Woolworths then proceed along Borth y Gest & Morfa Bychan road as above. |
